DIY Thieves Cleaning Fizzies

Certain chores around the house are less than desirable. For you, maybe it’s taking out the garbage or cleaning out the fridge, but we can all agree that cleaning the toilet isn’t something to look forward to. That’s why we’ve created the perfect solution that will leave your bathroom smelling fresh and clean like Lemon essential oil or Thieves® or Citrus Fresh™ essential oil blends.
This recipe for DIY cleaning fizzies isn’t limited to bathroom cleanup! You can also use it to clean out small-necked bottles or use it as a dish soak for a sink full of dirty pots and pans.

DIY Thieves Cleaning Fizzies

Ingredients
  1. In a large bowl, combine all dry ingredients and mix evenly.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine water, essential oils or blends, and V-6.
  3. Pour liquids into the large bowl and whisk together until combined.
  4. Use mixture to fill ice cube tray or candy mold about three fourths full. If mixture expands and spills over mold, gently repack into the mold.
  5. Let sit overnight to dry in room temperature area. When dry, pop tablets out and store in a glass jar.
  6. When needed, put a tablet in the toilet bowl, hard-to-clean bottles, or sink full of dishes to help clean and deodorize. Let tablet sit in bowl, bottle, or sink for 20–30 minutes to fizz and dissolve. Once dissolved, flush or rinse out.

Grief, Loss and How Essential Oils Can Help You

Grief, Loss and How Essential Oils Can Help You

When you lose someone that you love, part of you becomes numb. A part of you goes through the motions, and the rest of you is trying to take away the pain. As a person who has been dealing with loss for the past year, I find myself on a roller coaster of emotions and hurt. My son Jared was a bright star shining in my life and his loss was tragic and difficult to handle. As I get through the anniversary of his leaving his family here on earth, I want to pass on some of the things that I have learned. I am hopeful that these tips may help someone else going through the grieving process.
One thing that I want to point out is that the grieving process is very personal. Each person deals with it individually. If someone tells you that it is time to “move on” or “get on with living” remember it is you who is dealing with grief not them. The best time to move on is when you are ready.

Turbulent emotions are the norm. There are several essential oils that can help you deal with the rollercoaster feelings that hit during the grieving process. If you have particular oils that you generally love, those should be on the top of your list to diffuse. Keep them handy. As you or someone you know are going through the grieving process using oils daily will help you mentally, spiritually and physically. The brain reacts to the smell of essential oils and can help you maintain your well-being.
It is especially important to maintain self-care during this time. While taking care of yourself or loved ones may be shrouded in a fog of emotions, little things can make a big difference.

Some essential oils that are used for grief or sadness include:
  • Bergamot
  • Roman Chamomile
  • Jasmine
  • Sweet Marjoram
  • Rose – personally I found rose too sweet in the early stages of grief
  • Ginger
  • Frankincense
  • Melissa
There are several more, however, this is a good start.
Here are some recipes that I’d like to share:

For the bath
3 drops Sandalwood
2 drops Melissa
2 drops Frankincense
Mix in 1 T carrier oil and put in the bath.
For the bath
½ sodium bicarbonate
½ cup Epsom salts
10 drops Bergamot EO
 Apply to skin
Joy for uplifting
Stress Away
Forgiveness
Peace & Calming
To combat guilt – yes this is common
3 drops Lavender
2 drops Chamomile roman
2 drops Jasmine
Diffuse or put in the bath

As I said earlier, each person’s method of dealing with the loss of a loved one is personal and individual. I feel that I can help others dealing with grief and let them know that they are not alone.
Essential oils are a Band-Aid for grief and can help support you as you get to the root of where your feelings come from.  Each day will be different. Some will be very difficult. Remember there is no right or wrong way to grieve. Step-by step, day-by-day, our lives move forward.

“My grief and pain are mine. I have earned them. They are part of me. Only in feeling them do I open myself to the lessons they can teach.” - Anne Wilson Schaff

“All I know from my own experience is that the more loss we feel the more grateful we should be for whatever it was we had to lose. It means we had something worth grieving for. The ones I’m sorry for are the ones that go through life not even knowing what grief is.” - Frank O’Connor

Business Blues This Summer? Here’s How to Stay Charged Up

Business Blues This Summer? Here’s How to Stay Charged Up

One of the most difficult challenges an entrepreneur faces is staying motivated. This is especially true during the summer months. After all, those around you are playing in the great outdoors, having a good time, so why shouldn’t you? Being a solopreneur means staying motivated even in those times that are distracting and slower.

Motivation is like food. You need to feed yourself every day or you won’t survive. Each person needs to figure out what makes him motivated. I have a few ideas that may help you stay charged up this summer.

Remember why you started your Young Living Business

Think about your beginnings. Say to yourself, “I started my business to ____
_____.”
  • feel better
  • share my excitement
  • discover alternatives to products
There are many, many answers to this simple question. The key is to remember why you started with Young Living.

Get inspiration from your team

Everyone has a person they know that is excited about Young Living products. Talk to that person. Enthusiasm is infectious. You will find yourself becoming excited just by being around people that are motivated.

Check your goals for the summer

Are they realistic or exceptionally challenging? My challenge to you is to make realistic goals.  Plan to execute and execute your plan! Set measurable checkpoints.

Motivate others

This may seem counterintuitive, however, one of the best ways to get yourself excited and back on track is to help others get motivated. When you motivate others, you will motivate yourself. Why? It’s fun to see others, especially those on your team, get excited.

Take time for you

It’s summer! Have some fun! Take the time to take a walk, vacation and play with your kids. Make sure that you plan that “me” time. Not only will you have a good time, you will feel livelier and more energetic.
When your emotional fuel runs dry, try these ideas to re-charge and find that motivation that you need for surviving the summer.

“You can’t wait for inspiration. You have to go after it with a club.”
